Letter from Rabbi Renee

My Dear Congregants,

We are sadly aware that there was not extension for unemployment payments, longer lasting leases and that the second COVID bill promising money for Americans is in limbo. We at Temple Sha'arey Shalom are here to help our members. We learn in the Talmud, " Kol Israel zeh l'zeh", we are all responsible for one another. If you need help with money for rent or food, please call me so that I may assist you.
The COVID relief stimulus checks most likely will be received late.

We care about you and know that this is a difficult time for so many. Your email or call will be held in the greatest of confidence.

Please reach out to me by email, RabbiRenee@gmail.com or through my cell phone 516-662-4479.

We have a way to help you through these rocky times.

As well, if you have spiritual needs and would like to speak privately or would like me to create a place where we can connect on a deeper level, I am here. No one needs to suffer in silence. I am here to help in anyway I can, as are the executive committee and board. Please reach out so that I can reach back with financial, spiritual and emotional guidance.

With Love,
Rabbi Renee

Special Presentation of “The Keeper” after December 25th Service

Special Friday Night Service – December 25th!

Join us Friday Night, December 25, for the award winning movie “The Keeper” after the 6:30 pm services. The movie will begin about 7:10 pm.

The Keeper tells the incredible true story of Bert Trautmann (David Kross, The Reader), a German soldier and prisoner of war who, against a backdrop of British post-war protest and prejudice, secures the position of Goalkeeper at Manchester City, and in doing so becomes a footballing icon. His signing causes outrage to thousands of fans, many of them Jewish. But Bert receives support from an unexpected direction: Rabbi Alexander Altmann, who fled the Nazis. Bert’s love for Margaret (Freya Mavor), an Englishwoman, carries him through and he wins over even his harshest opponents by winning the 1956 FA Cup Final, playing on with a broken neck to secure victory. But fate will soon twist the knife for Bert and Margaret, when their love and loyalty to each other is put to the ultimate test.

Come for the Service, Stay for the Movie!
